The Power of Your Story

We all have stories to share. Stories that are good and others not so much, it’s what defines us. Have you ever been captivated by someone’s life or successes? What intrigued you to engage? Most likely it was their stories and pains. We all relate to other people through their life experiences. Do you share yours?

I’ve noticed through my blogging career how much I’ve changed and learned. This is a platform that allows me to grow and explore new areas. For example, I have had the opportunity to connect with new people and improve my photography skills. During this time of year, I take the time to reflect and think about my successes and failures. I’ve noticed an area of opportunity would be sharing my story, the person behind ”the healthy obsession” with lipstick. Haha.

The more I network and attend conferences, I notice a theme. The pattern is STORIES. Allowing people from a distance to feel like they know you is powerful. How are you leveraging your story to achieve your goal? One of my favorite quotes from Nely Galan, a Latina media mogul, is “in your pain is your profit.” As I analyzed it, I noticed how much value this phrase has. I sat down and thought about every single of my non official mentors, why am I drawn into them? Here goes the magic question, is it because of their stories and life experiences? OH YEAH.

As this sat behind my brain for a while, I realized I had to make this into a blogpost. I would love for you to sit down and write your pains/stories. What makes you wonderful? I’m sure there is something that the world needs to hear. You can even make a profit out of it!

One of my 2018 goals is to keep crafting that message, the stories I want you all to be a part of. Being able to share who I am and what I want in life has allowed me to grow my business. Yes, my PR and social media agency. Business owners feel connected with my young entrepreneur spirit and want that same energy to reflect on their goals. That “hustle mentality” is always something people admire. There may be hundreds of other good candidates, but they choose me because they feel a connection. At the end of the day, people buy through emotions. Your story will be that selling point. I’m not saying you are going to go to a job interview or a new business meeting and tell your childhood memories. The idea is to craft your story that will separate yourself from everyone else. For example, “I follow Lucielle’s blog because this, this and that. Her life experiences are so related to mine that I feel identified.” As you are reading this, I’m sure you are thinking of all those people you relate to and don’t even know personally. Do you buy their products and services? Most likely.

It seems simple, but it’s not as quite. It takes discipline to self reflect and realize how much of our lives we are willing to share. Our pains are so true to ourselves that no one can ever take that from us. It shapes our identity and helps us build an empire. Yes! Are you ready to start a new project but feel stuck? Think about your pains, it could shape your brand.

As we enter the holiday season, I would like to thank each and one of you for reading and supporting my blog. I am truly honored to keep writing and posting about things I love and care for. You are my inspiration and part of my story. Without you there wouldn’t be luciellesalomon.com for over two years. Thanks so much!!! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. Give them a squeeze and think about how are they a part of your story. Thanks again.
